FAQ

How do I get help to pay for an abortion or related logistical costs?

Our preferred method for receiving support requests is via our online form. Our helpline hours are Monday through Friday between 6AM and 3PM. We call every person who reaches out to us within 24 to 36 hours – be sure to answer any unknown numbers as you await our call. If you require support for an appointment within 24 hours please reach out to your clinic for funding options.

If you are unable to fill out the form due to access reasons, you can instead call us at (312) 663-0338 and leave us a message with the information requested below.

Information for voicemail:

  • Say and spell your first and last name

  • Your phone number with area code

  • If it’s okay for us to leave a voicemail

  • How far along you are in your pregnancy

  • Clinic name and appointment date

  • Zip code

  • Your insurance status

Is there a certain age group that you help or do you require parental notification?

We can help no matter what age you are. Currently, no parental notification is required for a minor seeking abortion services in Illinois.

Does CAF cover the entire cost?

Due to the amount of calls we receive and limited resources, CAF does not pay 100% of the cost. Typical grants range from $100-$300. We attempt to fund 100% of the people who call us, and we can support in connecting you to resources for additional funding. We also support with travel and associated expenses.

Do you have a list of abortion providers that people can be referred to?

CAF works regularly with all clinics in Illinois, and many in surrounding states. We also have close relationships with sibling abortion funds across the country. We can support with referrals and additional funding sources in the event that we are not able to assist. If you need help finding a clinic, please visit ineedana.com.

Do you support people outside of Illinois?

We do. We attempt to support everyone who contacts us. Please see here for more info.
