We Are Here To Help You Access Abortion Care

We offer abortion funding and travel support to people within our service area to get abortion care. Our service area includes residents of or people traveling to:

Illinois
Wisconsin
Iowa
Nebraska
Arkansas

We will not be able to reach out to you at this time if you reside or are getting care outside of these states. For a list of abortion funds that may be able to support you, please visit the National Network of Abortion Funds.

Our Hours

We are open to new support requests from Monday-Friday 9AM-3PM CST, as our capacity allows. As of December 17, 2024, we are experiencing a very high volume of calls. If we are able to support you, we will call you as soon as a case manager is available. Once you have been assigned a case manager, they are generally available between 9AM - 5PM Monday through Saturday. Please leave one message only. Our voicemail system moves duplicate messages and intake form requests to the back of the line. Please note we are only able to support callers within our service area, which includes residents of IL, WI, NE, AK and IA or anyone traveling to IL, WI, IA & NE for care. 

If your appointment is within 24 hours, and our helpline is closed, please reach out to the clinic you are going to and ask about funding options. The Chicago Abortion Fund is CLOSED for a mid-day break from 12 pm CT to 12:30 pm CT. During this half-hour period, our staff may not be able to respond immediately to messages or requests.

  • If it’s OK to send a text message identifying as CAF/the Chicago Fund

A note for Illinois Residents

Illinois Medicaid covers abortion. If you are an Illinois resident, you may be able to access abortion through Medicaid at no-cost. Click here for more information. Please still contact us so we may answer any questions about this process and assist you in obtaining care.

2024 Helpline Closures

Throughout the year, our helpline will be closed on the following holidays. We will re-open the following business day (Monday through Friday) at 6:00 a.m., and then continue our regular helpline hours as listed above.
